Bereavement Ministry

Human Concerns: Bereavement Ministry

Bereavement Ministry

This ministry exists as a source of encouragement and support for those within the parish who have experienced the loss of a loved one through death.

Participation in the Wake Service, Memorial Service, or Funeral Mass: In the event that family members are unable to participate, ministers are needed to participate as Ushers, Lectors, Gift Bearers and Eucharistic Ministers.

Time commitment: As needed. The majority of the services are during the day time rather than evenings or weekends. Training is provided.

Funeral Receptions Volunteers prepare and/or serve refreshments for the family and friends of the deceased at the completion of the Mass or graveside service. Volunteers are also responsible for set up and clean up.

Grief Group - Redeemer offers a Grief Group for those who have lost a loved one on the second and fourth Thursday's of the month. Please contact Diane in the office for details.
