Human Concerns: Social Justice
Our call to social justice:
As people of faith, our work for justice is inspired by prayer. When we pray, we experience God and we remember that He is in us and in all people, who are created in His image and have inherent dignity. As we come to God in prayer, experiencing God in ourselves and others, we are called to listen to the ways God is calling us to respond.
“But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!”
God of Justice, May we resist the temptation to pursue our own interest, to preserve the status quo, and to participate in the conspiracy of silence which protects the rich and harms the poor. Renew our hearts, focus our vision, and strengthen our commitment to each other and the work we do in your name.
