Redeemer Celebrates GIFT Week
(Growing in Faith Together)
October 2004

The week of October 25th nearly 1000 parishioners of all ages gathered for food, fellowship, fun and faith-sharing. We feasted on spaghetti, salad, and an abundance of wonderful desserts, and had the opportunity to see the week's Gospel in a new light and relate it to our daily lives. Each night someone shared with the group an experience from their life of saying 'yes' to God and then we had time to discuss our own experiences with those at our table. While the youth and adults had their discussions, the preschool and elementary children had their own activities. Our evening concluded with song, prayer, and a beautiful visual display of disciples past and present.

Here are some comments from our parishioners:
  • Thanks! I feel like I'm provided with great opportunities to grow in faith.
  • Do it again!
  • It was great to see so many people together on a "non-church' day.
  • ...thought provoking... enjoyable... enlightening... wonderful... a lovely evening
  • It was a real treat having dinner served!
  • I came uncertain, I left inspired!
  • I loved the slide show and the music.
  • It gave us the chance to talk with our children and other adults that we don't normally, and have the opportunity to talk about our faith.
Our next GIFT gatherings will be held the week of December 5th, when we'll celebrate the Advent season together. Registration will begin Nov. 13th - don't miss this opportunity to Grow In Faith Together!
